Andrew Cuomo Grants Conditional Pardons To Dozens Of Sex Offenders Including Pedophiles<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0\u201cDozens of convicted sexual predators deemed too dangerous to be returned to the community after their release from prison are among the thousands who received conditional pardons from Gov. Cuomo, giving them the right to vote,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0according\u00a0to<\/a>\u00a0the New York Daily News.<\/p>\n \u201cThe list of 77 is littered with convicted pedophiles and rapists and other violent sexual abusers. All were granted conditional pardons from Cuomo under a new policy designed to give back the right to vote to those who leave prison.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Among the pardoned sex offenders are convicted cop killer Herman Bell and notorious 61-year-old child rapist Hector Aviles, also known as the \u201cVoodoo Rapist.\u201d<\/p>\n The criminals were deemed so dangerous to society that they were \u201csent to civil confinement in\u00a0state psychiatric hospitals<\/a>\u00a0after their prison time was up<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is hands-down the most egregious public policy misstep Andrew Cuomo has made in his eight years as governor, and it shows that he will do virtually anything for a few extra votes,<\/em>\u201d said New York Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan (R-Suffolk County).<\/p>\n \u201cThis policy rewards the worst of the worst sexual predators and lowlifes in our society and undermines the integrity of our voting system in every way, shape and form.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n New York GOP congressional candidate Dr. Jim Maxwell also slammed Cuomo on social media, saying Democrats \u201cwill stop at nothing to maintain their grip on power.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cGovernor Cuomo pardoned at least 77 sexual predators just so they could go out and vote for him. A good chunk of the newly-pardoned predators were deemed unfit to return to society, so they\u2019ve been kept in psychiatric hospitals since their release so they can\u2019t go out and hurt anyone else<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n Cuomo announced in May that\u00a0he issued conditional pardons<\/a>\u00a0to 24,000 parolees\u00a0in the first round.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that some are using the issue of restoring voting rights to fearmonger,<\/em>\u201d Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi said Monday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Source: Gov.
