And that enemy is not COVID-19. The invisible enemy is the unconquerable ignorance of abject idiots.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-9\">\n<div data-glade=\"\" data-ad-unit-path=\"\/21752231759\/pulpitandpen_300x250_passback\" data-page-url=\"https:\/\/pulpitandpen.org\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Thankfully, those idiots are wearing masks so we know who they are.<\/p>\n<p>Within days of the coronavirus panic\u2019s onset, which was set off by initial predictions of 2.2 million dead nationwide,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/epidemiologist-behind-highly-cited-coronavirus-model-admits-he-was-wrong-drastically-revises-model?fbclid=IwAR0eLJOiHfksOR8tcuKTIhav9FtcX8ZP6HES-oVkMbhE_1tcr_Ya35V2a7w\">reports began to surface<\/a>\u00a0that the data was grossly inaccurate and inflated. The Imperial College London coronavirus model, upon which the American pandemic response was based, largely underestimated the number of people who already had the virus. This means that the deadliness of COVID-19 was much lower than initially thought.<\/p>\n<p>We knew this back in March, when\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/epidemiologist-behind-highly-cited-coronavirus-model-admits-he-was-wrong-drastically-revises-model?fbclid=IwAR0eLJOiHfksOR8tcuKTIhav9FtcX8ZP6HES-oVkMbhE_1tcr_Ya35V2a7w\">the Daily Wire reported<\/a>, \u201cA higher rate of transmission than expected means that more people have the virus than previously expected; when the number of those with coronavirus is divided by the number of deaths, therefore, the mortality rate for the disease drops.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-8\"><\/div>\n<p>That article was immediately met by Big Tech \u201cfact-checkers\u201d who rated it as fake news. But time has now told the story, and it was\u00a0<em>spot-on<\/em>. Coronavirus was a paper tiger.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/div>\n<p>After laying off a hundred-plus million Americans, adding trillions to our national deficit, restricting the civil liberties of three-hundred-thousand churches, giving unprecedented wartime powers to unelected public health bureaucrats, canceling over one-hundred-thousand schools and more than five-thousand colleges, and undoing nearly a decade of unparalleled economic growth and record unemployment, we can see in hindsight it was to mitigate the danger of a\u00a0<em>mild virus<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, coronavirus is mild compared to other \u201cepidemics.\u201d In fact, as of June 27, the death rate from coronavirus is so low that<a href=\"https:\/\/www.collective-evolution.com\/2020\/07\/09\/cdc-may-officially-downgrade-covid-from-an-epidemic-due-to-remarkably-low-death-rate\/?fbclid=IwAR2NX7lGZZr_ZNnaV9zbXRvg6oBAJoUdfKPALLDgsBNWIpPVd79rgtSAsN8\">\u00a0it doesn\u2019t cross the threshold\u00a0<\/a>for the Centers for Disease Control to classify it as an epidemic at all. For months (almost from the beginning), we knew that the data suggested far more people\u00a0<em>have<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>have had<\/em>\u00a0the virus than were being reported. Penn State said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2020\/06\/200622141143.htm\">as many as 80-times<\/a>\u00a0those tested positively have the virus and the CDC provides a much lower figure at<a href=\"https:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/script\/main\/art.asp?articlekey=239052\">\u00a024-times<\/a>. As testing increases the more it reveals that most people \u2013 more than 80% \u2013 don\u2019t even know they have a cold, let alone a \u201cserious\u201d illness. Of those who are even aware they have a bug, only a tiny fraction \u2013 about 1% require hospitalization. Ultimately, the death rate is somewhere between .24% and .04%, which is within the margin of something like seasonal influenza.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\"><\/div>\n<p>It\u2019s here someone might argue that COVID-19 is more deadly than the flu if you tweak this number and torque that one. I\u2019m ready to concede it because I don\u2019t care. I\u2019d just like to point out what a lame-sauce nothing-burger \u201cpandemic\u201d it is that we\u2019re\u00a0<em>even having the discussion<\/em>\u00a0about which is worse. Clearly, coronavirus is not a SARS-level or Ebola-level event. And yet, we gave up\u00a0<em>trillions of dollars<\/em>\u00a0and our\u00a0<em>civil liberties\u00a0<\/em>for a virus that only kills people with pre-existing or co-occurring conditions.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out, the best advice for mitigating coronavirus is (A) wash your hands (B) don\u2019t needlessly touch people and (C) if you\u2019re a sickly fellow, an invalid, or already on death\u2019s door,\u00a0<em>stay home<\/em>. After all that panic, it turns out grandma\u2019s basic advice is better than anything coming out of Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of realizing that\u00a0<strong>the Great Coronavirus Panic of 2020 is the single largest and most expensive medical blunder in world history<\/strong>\u00a0people are doubling-down on mitigation efforts. Little Heinrichs in all 50 states are drunk on power. Most of them, especially at the lower rungs of the bureaucratic ladder, have never had more authority than the 4th-grade hall monitor, and now they have the power to control the comings and goings of the masses. And those mini-poobahs of power don\u2019t want to surrender their newly found authority back to the citizens they stole it from.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-11\"><\/div>\n<p>While it\u2019s unfortunate that power corrupts, it\u2019s not unexpected. What\u2019s unexpected are the troves of mask-wearers who voluntarily don a mouth-diaper despite the scientific and medical evidence that coronavirus probably will not affect you, likely will not hurt you, and almost certainly will not kill you (unless you\u2019re already teetering on the edge).<\/p>\n<p>Oh, but you don\u2019t wear a mask\u00a0<em>for you<\/em>, we\u2019re told. You wear a mask for the\u00a0<em>vulnerable<\/em>\u00a0among us.<\/p>\n<p>Listen, if at this point someone is vulnerable to the coronavirus it\u2019s because they\u2019re vulnerable to\u00a0<em>everything<\/em>; the immune-compromised, the perpetually sick, the elderly, the dying, etc.<\/p>\n<p>If you believe that the actions of society\u00a0<em>as a whole<\/em>\u00a0should revolve around those who are so physically fragile they could die from literally\u00a0<em>any illness whatsoever,<\/em>\u00a0<strong>you\u2019re just awful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-14\"><\/div>\n<p>If you think that wearing a mask is necessary for COVID-19 but not other, similarly deadly and common viruses,\u00a0<strong>you\u2019re just awful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you wear a mask\u00a0<em>today\u00a0<\/em>but aren\u2019t willing to do it the rest of your life (biological threats aren\u2019t going away any time soon), you\u2019re just doing it\u00a0because everyone else is doing it, and that means\u00a0<strong>you\u2019re just awful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you wear a mask because you genuinely think it\u2019s a sign of empathy with the afflicted and that it somehow\u00a0<em>in a magical way<\/em>\u00a0helps coronavirus victims,\u00a0<strong>you\u2019re just awful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-15\"><\/div>\n<p>If you wear a face mask because you\u2019re incapable of reading the scientific data for yourself,\u00a0<strong>you\u2019re just awful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you wear a face mask because you live in constant fear of a virus you probably won\u2019t even notice you have,\u00a0<strong>you\u2019re just awful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u00a0<em>cover your face\u00a0<\/em>just because the government tells you to, there\u2019s apparently\u00a0<em>no limit<\/em>\u00a0to your slave-like servility and\u00a0<strong><em>you\u2019re just awful.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The message of our governmental overlords should be, \u201c<em>If you are fragile, stay home<\/em>.\u201d And for those who are caring for the fragile, the message should be, \u201c<em>Take precautions<\/em>. Use grandma\u2019s method:\u00a0<em>wash your hands and don\u2019t touch what you don\u2019t have to<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-17\"><\/div>\n<p>But the message of mask-wearers is already abundantly clear. It is to say, \u201cI don\u2019t care about facts. I don\u2019t care about logic. I don\u2019t care about my freedom or years.
