District Court swore in the 2,000 National Guard troops as special deputy U.S. Marshals prior to the presidential inauguration, according to the federal law enforcement agency\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USMarshalsHQ\/status\/1351167667479175176?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1351167667479175176%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thegatewaypundit.com%2F2021%2F01%2Fbiden-inaugural-two-thousand-national-guard-troops-d-c-sworn-special-deputy-u-s-marshals%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cdeputation gives the guardsmen temporary, limited, law enforcement authority pertaining specifically to the safety and protection of the inauguration and related events,\u201d the U.S. Marshals\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/usmarshals\/sets\/72157717930708541\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>\u00a0in a caption on its Flickr page, showing the Guard troops being deputized at night.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Marshals Service didn\u2019t immediately respond to a request from The Epoch Times about the duties of the new special deputies.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, officials confirmed that as many as 25,000 National Guard members were being deployed to the District of Columbia for Inauguration Day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/defense\/534497-army-up-to-25000-national-guard-in-dc-for-biden-inauguration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A statement<\/a>\u00a0from the Army to news outlets said the increase in Guard troops would support the \u201cfederal law enforcement mission and security preparations\u201d during the inauguration, and it would be led by the U.S. Secret Service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur National Guard soldiers and airmen are set around the city to protect our nation\u2019s Capital,\u201d National Guard Bureau Chief Army Gen. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump called on Americans not to break the law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn light of reports of more demonstrations, I urge that there must be NO violence, NO lawbreaking, and NO vandalism of any kind,\u201d Trump said. \u201cThat is not what I stand for, and it is not what America stands for. I call on ALL Americans to help ease tensions and calm tempers. Thank You.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The National Park Service has closed the Washington Monument to tours and Mayor Muriel Bowser has asked visitors to avoid the city.<\/p>\n<p>In Washington, the perimeter of a fence surrounding the Capitol was pushed out to encompass the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress. Roads and other access points were closed, and some businesses said they would shut.<\/p>\n<p>At least 21 states have activated their National Guard troops, respectively, in capital cities.
