The authorities will then retain the discretion to fine travelers \u00a35,000\u2014 nearly $7,000, if the reason isn\u2019t valid.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has provided a list of 14 valid excuses, such as a professional football team traveling for a match. This is totally fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But someone who wants to attend a religious pilgrimage is forbidden to travel. So is someone who wants to visit an elderly parent they haven\u2019t seen since 2019, unless it is a parent whom the traveler \u201creasonably believes is dying.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How magnanimous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the way, these new rules come despite Members of Parliament acknowledging in debate yesterday that&nbsp;<strong>95% of Brits over the age of 60 have been vaccinated.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that the most vulnerable population has been administered a vaccine that they insist is safe and effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So&#8230; why the harsh lockdown rules?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/iman.infusion-links.com\/api\/v1\/click\/6054567128727552\/6334737115250688\">Click here to read the new rules.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The lockdowns are getting worse in certain areas of the world.
