On behalf of the men and women of Vilcabamba and the natural environment of our parish, we notify you and all the authorities at the provincial and national level, our express opposition to the installation or use of 5G technology (millimeter waves that emit high frequencies electromagnetic) or generations above this in Vilcabamba or its surroundings.

We have investigated 5G technology (with millimeter waves that emit high electromagnetic frequencies) and we have thousands of internationally validated scientific studies that demonstrate that these technologies cause terrible damage to human and environmental health. If requested by you, we can provide you with such studies.

Many peer-reviewed scientific and medical studies show that these frequencies interfere with our body’s own biological frequencies and cause a variety of potential health problems, including (but not limited to) the following:

– headaches
– nervous system impairment
– memory loss
– cardiovascular stress
– reduced sperm count in men
– birth defects
– cancer

On December 13, 2019 in Vilcabamba, a certified professional engineer made a measurement with scientific equipment of the electromagnetic frequencies radiated by the Radio Frequency Tower located next to the Church. Alarmingly, the readings made by the engineer showed a dangerous level of electromagnetic frequency irradiation within a radius of several blocks, including the Church, the Central Park, the Juan Montalvo College and the Bus Terminal. The level of electromagnetic radiation is so high that the tower should be located immediately in the furthest areas of Vilcabamba where there is no population density. We can provide you with this report by clicking on this link: Radio Frequency Report in Vilcabamba. 5G technology (with millimeter waves that emit high electromagnetic frequencies) is at least 10 times more powerful than 4G. Those of us who live in this parish should in no way expose ourselves to this danger.

Currently, insurance companies refuse to cover the damage to health caused by chronic exposure to electromagnetic radiation from cellular frequencies. Increasingly, communities and entire cities in the United States, Europe, and other nations are mobilizing to ban and eliminate such technologies. Those with knowledge of the increasing health damage from these technologies are taking increasingly large lawsuits against telecommunications companies, regulatory agencies and against local authorities that willingly allowed the deployment of dangerous technologies.

Although Telecommunications companies and State Agencies try to ensure that the parish is kept up-to-date with technological advances, we are more than happy with the installation of Fiber Optic cables, with which we will have our internet needs covered. high speed, through an environmentally clean, stable, reliable and safe technology for our communications. We are in favor of high speed internet using Fiber Optic cables. We also agree with wireless technologies (for internet and cell phones) whose frequencies that do not exceed the MHz level are dangerous to health. IN NO WAY WILL WE ACCEPT wireless technologies that emit a level of electromagnetic frequencies higher than those emitted by 4G.

In December 2018, 750 men and women from Vilcabamba signed a petition against the Installation of a new tower that, initially, was described as 5G. Said letter with the 750 signatures was delivered to the authorities of the Parish Government and to the CLARO company in Loja as a clear example of the historical opposition to technologies that emit dangerous electromagnetic radiation. Through this, we, the men and women of Vilcabamba, inform you that if our express notification of opposition to the installation or use of 5G technology (with millimeter waves that emit high electromagnetic frequencies) or generations is not complied with superior to this one in Vilcabamba or its surroundings,
